[Video of this waza fast and slow, from the side, and ideally, overhead]

Defense against a pursuit punch

  • 7-3 outside, and slapping the opponent’s arm down with your same-side hand.
  • Reach over and grab the opponent’s sleeve with your opposite-side hand.
  • Pull on the opponent’s sleeve, and twist inside with an uraken uchi.

Notes

This "slap-grab-uraken" combination is a bunkai from Yonaka and many other kata.
