Defense against a pursuit punch

  • Twist inside, with an opposite-side downward slap to deflect the incoming punch.
  • Immediately perform a same-side grasping block to the opponent’s wrist, pulling them into an opposite side makikomi-shutō to the side of their neck.

Notes

This is a variation of the slap-grab-uraken combination from Yonaka and many other kata.
