Defense against an over-arm bear hug

  • Knee kick to the groin as both an atemi and a kuzushi, to get the opponent to loosen their grip.
  • Push yourself off the opponent, stepping back to escape their grasp.
  • As the opponent leans forward, throw a backfist strike to their nose or philtrum.
