Defense against a rear mug

  • Pull the opponent’s arm down, and wedge your chin between their arm and your neck to preclude them from completing a stranglehold.
  • Twist towards the hand (i.e., away from the elbow) of the opponent’s choking arm to twist out of the rear mug.
  • Continue turning to face the opponent. Strike their chin with a rising palmheel strike and reap.
