Defense against a pursuit punch
- Twist inside with a simultaneous (Kūsankū) same-side grasping block to the wrist, and a backfist strike the opponent’s nose.
- Wrap your same-side hand over the opponent’s arm, grabbing the inside of their elbow. Trap the outside of the opponent’s elbow with the back of your opposite-side hand.
- Reap the opponent. They will fall into an arm bar or shovel pin.
